This couple of paragraphs is about my first week at Warden Park Secondary Academy.
So the night before my first day, Thursday, I got an early night. I didn’t want to but was the key to a great and awesome first day. When I woke up I left enough time to get ready, have breakfast and get out the door in plenty of time. I was really excited for my first day.
My Mum and my sister came in the car with me and then once we had arrived they asked us to wait on the tennis courts because of the Coronavirus situation.
DO NOT WORRY ABOUT ANYTHING YOU ARE ALL IN THE SAME BOAT! I heard this phrase a lot over my first week. Due to Covid 19 we had our assembly in the tennis courts, we then met our tutor Mr Argent who was really nice, and no he didn’t bribe me to say that! I was feeling really happy about my first day and couldn’t wait to tell my family everything I learnt. They didn’t even know some of the facts that I told them. I was excited to see what was going to happen in the upcoming week.
The next week much more epic! So many lessons ranging from Maths and English to Music and PE. Moving from lesson to lesson was challenging because I didn’t normally move around classes in Primary School. The one way system didn’t help but eventually I will get the hang of it.
Some days I even took the bus with my friend who lives nearby which was cool. I only had two friends from my primary school in my tutor group but by the end of the week I had 10 friends in my tutor.
All the staff were really kind and will help you with any problems. Overall I couldn’t have asked for a better, cooler first week at Secondary School (except for accidentally dropping my iPhone and smashing the screen on the second day!)

Day One
I met my friends to walk to school. It was great to meet some new people in my tutor group. We got shown around the school and started to learn where everything is.
Lessons
We started on an A week. I like how in secondary school you don’t just stay with one teacher. My favourite subject is P.E.
Food
The food at Warden Park is great, There is a wide variety of food. Right now, my favourite things have been the pizza and the hash browns.
Breaktime
At break the canteen does bacon rolls, which are delicious. After a snack we go and play football.

Finally I could go back to school. It was exciting yet nerve wracking. The fear of getting lost was running through my mind. Tutor! My favourite part of the day (annoying that it’s the first thing). Miss Havenne the nicest teacher I’ve met so far. She really helps me stay happy throughout the day. It was really funny when Miss Havenne sent us late to English because her watch was wrong! Now I’ve got lots of new friends here and I absolutely love most of the lessons.

My first week at Warden Park was amazing. I met new people, I met my teachers and I enjoyed being a more mature student. I especially enjoyed History, Maths, Spanish and PE. The teachers are really nice and I really enjoyed going to different classes and being taught by different teachers. There are so many more opportunities here compared to when I was still in primary school. There is technology, iPads for working on, new people to meet and there is the fact you are moving on to the next chapter, so you can come closer to your dreams and possibly pursue them. For months before I came to Warden Park, I was so excited to come and now that I am here, I see why I was so excited. I still am excited too, for the adventures to come!

My first week of Warden Park. I got lost a lot, but lucky there are teachers all around the school so I got there on time.  Happily all of the teachers are understanding so if I am late on the first or second week then they understand.  The food was delicious and the field is massive and good for football.  The food is has a good variety of food every day and if you do not like it you can have a sandwich.

When I first started at Warden Park, I could tell by the teachers, students and learning environment that I would  love it here. I came to Warden Park super excited about what challenges I would face, the new lessons and all of the lovely staff and students and I still feel excited now about my future that lies ahead at Warden Park. As the school is so large (and the new one way system is in place), it has been hard to find your way around the school, but from the support of staff members, it has become a lot easier. All of the teachers and fellow students are so helpful, thoughtful and kind that school life becomes so amazing! In terms of subjects, I’ve really enjoyed all my subjects and can’t wait to try out many more. Each subject  brings something new whether it’s technology or maths, a new subject or one which you have already been learning. If you are looking for a challenging subject, I’d say all of them again as each and every subject can challenge you and push you. Overall, my experience of the first two weeks at Warden Park has been awesome and unforgettable. It really is ‘the best from all’.
