Hello everybody!
If you have an interest in science, conservation or big fish with massive teeth, please read on…
With lockdown continuing and all foreign trips currently mothballed, I was excited to see the following announcement from Oyster Diving in Brighton:
Sharks of the Red Sea
Thursday 25 March, 6pm via Zoom
Join biologist Dr Elke Bojanowski (AKA the Shark Lady) who has been in the Egyptian Red Sea since 2004, and heads up the fantastic charity http://www.redseasharks.org.
She will guide you through the different shark species in the Red Sea, how to dive with sharks safely, why sharks are so important to the health of our oceans, the plight of sharks and how you can help her research.
We will also tell you about how you can join us on a trip to the Red Sea where Elke can show you the sharks up close and personal.
The presentation is free of charge but we suggest a donation of £5 to say thanks. This can be paid directly via her website – http://www.redseasharks.org.
This promises to be a very exciting talk – I have attended Elke’s online talks before and they’re tremendous. Her presentation style is very engaging and pitched at budding marine biologists, diving enthusiasts and those with just a general interest in marine life.
The direct Zoom link to attend at 6pm on March 25th is here.
Best regards,
