To help kickstart charity fundraising after lockdown, I’m doing a cycling challenge for the Coombe house charity, Cancer Research UK.
On Monday, I started cycling from Lands End towards John O’Groats.
Obviously, I can’t take the time away from school to do it, so I’ve brought in my exercise bike, and am covering the equivalent distance in the classroom.
Today, I covered 53 miles to reach my first milestone of St Austell.
Experienced cyclists can do this course in ten days – the record is nine.
The average cyclist takes fifteen days to cover the whole distance.
I’ve been sat in front of a computer, eating cake throughout lockdown – so it might take me a wee bit longer.

UPDATE: 27 April 2021:
I DID IT!
I completed the ride this morning at about 9:45.
The route took me fifteen days (but would have been fourteen if the last day of term wasn’t a half-day). I know the record for doing it in the real world with real hills and everything is nine days, but I’m no athlete and I’m feeling quite proud of myself.
